Mars Coffee’s journey begins like any legendary tale of cosmic exploration, rooted in the spirit of the space race. Our founding Martians, in pursuit of the galaxy’s finest coffee, made a slight miscalculation—likely due to a lack of caffeine—and instead of landing on the red planet, found themselves in the Drake neighborhood of Des Moines.

Embracing their accidental new home, they settled in Dogtown and became the city’s first third-wave café. Since those early days of interstellar detours, Mars Coffee has remained committed to serving the galaxy’s best coffee in a welcoming space—occasionally paired with some space snacks.
