I’ve been digging this band for a little while now. Really not much longer than they came into existence. This group consists of a mash-up of other bands, all greats in of themselves. Scott Yoshimura, Erik Knudtson, Becca Smith, Wayde Stover and frontwoman Dana Halferty bring jangling guitars and indie-pop melodies to the Des Moines scene.
Bands like these make me feel like Des Moines has its very own Broken Social Scene circle of musicians. And we do.
Parlours are playing at Mars Cafe coming up this November 27. Facebook event: here.

These folks artists aren’t just musicians. They are community focused, and passionately driven. And they’re good. Don’t pass up this free opportunity to hear their music live.
ps. I’ve always wanted to know if Jacob Tyler Wolfgang’s “Tigers” hoodie is just a part of his performance. I’ve never seen him perform without it. Check out the show this weekend and see if I’m right.
Watch Jacob Tyler Wolfgang + Seedlings perform this upcoming weekend (Friday, Oct 22) at 7:30pm.
